Polygon skylights are a type of pyramid skylight constructed over five-, six-, eight-, or twelve-sided pyramid skylight that is constructed over five, six, eight, or twelve-sided openings, as well as over irregular multi-sided openings. Most commercial monumental skylights are polygonal, as they can serve as an attractive centerpiece in libraries, universities, shopping malls, sports venues, and other high-traffic public areas. Skylight pitch is normally determined by the architect's aesthetic intent, structural engineering requirements, or both.
